For over 25 years, Southwest Care Center has been providing exceptional healthcare to the communities of Santa Fe and Albuquerque, NM. We are a non-profit, FQHC-LAL providing medical, behavioral health, case management, community outreach, diabetes education, and pharmacy services. Southwest Care Center is currently seeking an experienced full-time Health Informatics EHR Specialist This position supports all SCC locations in Santa Fe and Albuquerque; therefore, candidate must reside in the local market area of Albuquerque or Santa Fe, New Mexico and able to travel between the two cities as needed.

Position Details: The Health Informatics EHR Specialist is responsible for ensuring the effective utilization and optimization of the organization’s electronic health record (EHR) system, Athena. This role includes training and support, leading optimization projects, managing software and hardware integrations, and overseeing reporting and dashboard management to support data driven decisions.

Training and Support:

  • Conduct comprehensive training sessions for new and existing users of Athena, ensuring all users are proficient in system functionalities.
  • Provide ongoing support through the ticketing system, managing and resolving user issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop, update, and maintain training materials to reflect changes in Athena’s features and functionalities.

Optimization Projects and Initiatives:

  • Lead projects to improve operational efficiencies within the Athena system, including workflow enhancements and system configurations.
  • Address both training-related and technical issues to optimize system performance and usability.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to evaluate and test alpha and beta releases of Athena and other related software updates.

Software and Hardware Integration:

  • Provide support for ancillary software and hardware systems that interface with Athena, such as Epion, Mend, Inuvio, and Syncroyns.
  • Ensure seamless integration and functionality across all platforms and devices supported by Athena.

Reporting and Dashboard Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance of Power BI dashboards and distribution of various reports using Athena data.
  • Manage and assist in optimizing Power BI dashboards to provide actionable insights, facilitating data-driven decision-making for clinical and administrative leadership.

Other duties as assigned.
Candidate Highlights:

  • EHR system experience of 1-2 years is preferred, preferably in a similar position. Athena and healthcare IT support experience a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with related associate degree or higher preferred
  • Power BI or Tableau experience highly desirable as is experience in adult learning/training.
